There are many opportunities for all age groups to join sports teams in Daegu. High school students can join sports at DAS while middle/elementary students participate in the Youth Services sports programs. The school offers both JV and Varsity sports where students can earn athletic letters upon successfully meeting the team requirements for the season.Prior to participating in any sport, each student is required to have a sports physical exam. The requirement for a physical is an annual requirement and students that plan on trying out for any sport should schedule their physical at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the season. Daegu American School is part of the Korea district sports program and is classified as a Division I school in the Pacific Region. The mascot for DAS is the Warrior and our school colors are Green/Black and White. DAS is classified a smaller school which affords students a better opportunity to participate at the JV/varsity level. Many programs at larger schools have such a large student body, that only a few get to participate. We at Taegu work and play hard and thus represent our school in a very favorable manner.
